The music is playing and we’re doing great! As I go to do my ariel, crack! I feel my bone adjust and it doesn’t feel good. Multiple things can cause injuries like for example landing the wrong way in a leap or falling out of your turns, but there’s multiple ways to prevent injuries.
A way to get injured is if you don’t have much experience. People can push themselves too soon because they see people who have done dance for a while and you want to have the flexibility, strength, etc. It’s better to take exercising and stretching one step at a time.
Poor posture/fitness can also cause injuries. You get the fitness you need at dance but it depends on if you’re really putting in the effort in or if you cheat. It also doesn’t help when you slouch. If you concentrate on those things for a while, you’re less likely to get an injury.
Lastly, overtraining can cause a lot of injuries. Your muscles could be tired but you continue to push yourself too much. If they feel like they have a little ache or pain, it’s better to see a doctor before it might get worse.
There are many ways to get injured in dance but there’s many ways to fix it. It’s important to make the right choice!
